Modern trains with a high level of comfort
The MittelrheinBahn operates ultra modern DESIRO ML® three-unit electric locomotives from Siemens on its routes. With a top speed of 160 km/h, these trains represent a new generation of vehicles and, with their attractive design, provide passengers with a high level of all-round comfort. This ranges from fully automatic air conditioning to a modern passenger information system through to practical access aids for persons with limited mobility.
The advantages at a glance:
- 252 seats and 261 standing spaces
- free view of the outside from all seats through large panorama windows
- an air conditioned interior with a low noise level
- access aids for persons with limited mobility, e.g. wheelchair users
- a high level of safety due to constant video monitoring and also accompanying conductors after 07:00 pm
- a modern passenger information system
In addition, the train drivers can communicate directly with the operations control centre. Possible deviations from the timetable can thus be advised immediately and displayed to passengers in the major railway stations. Another advantage: Currently, the trains are already prepared for meeting future demands on standards, e.g. as regards environmental and climate protection.
